Mercury's Retrograde

I'm going to interrupt the Parenting Series I've been working on at the speed of molasses to drop a few lines about this particular retrograde we're experiencing right now.

As many of my clients know, in general, when Mercury goes into retrograde, it means all forms of communication are at risk of breaking down--cellphones malfunction, computers run slowly, people can't make up their minds about anything, people flake out on plans, driving is sometimes difficult, communication in love relationships is challenged--you get the idea.  It sucks, but it happens about three times a year, so we just have to deal with it.  Luckily, the influence is subtle and may go completely unnoticed by less in-tune individuals.

Mercury is already in retrograde (March 12) and will be direct again by April 4th.  While all of the usual  irritations of MercRet (as I will affectionately call it) are standard, this particular wave brings the opportunity to tie up loose ends, rebuild projects that have crumbled, revision of any kind, and self-evaluation and improvement (planning is fine, wait to implement those plans after the retrograde period).

I just wanted to share the good news and encourage everyone to take advantage of this special arrangement the universe has setup for us.

Also, for anyone who's curious, this same alignment hasn't happened since 1933.

Gemini Parents

Gemini is the great communicator with the shortest attention span of the entire zodiac.  Gemini parents are highly energetic, but super-laid-back.  They have the gift of objectivity and may be exceptionally open-minded and accepting of interests, friends, and the identity their children may choose.  Gemini mom and dad keep current with all the latest trends (especially gadgets and forms of technology) and tell great stories.  Story time should be a must in every Gemini home.  While these parents are great at explaining things and may even drone on and on at times, they also like to keep things moving.  Multitasking is Gemini's comfort-zone.

Pros:  parent's ability to genuinely accept who the child is creates confidence, parent is possibly a "hip" mom or dad, parent is able to pass on good communication skills to child

Cons:  not known for their great sensitivity/intuition, inability to focus may rub off on child,  children who need boundaries and structure may struggle to excel with the free-spirited guidance of Gemini
